What we do
The overall objective for LLNs is to improve the coherence, clarity and certainty of progression opportunities for vocational learners into and through higher education. The Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network aims to:
- Remove barriers to progression for vocational learners, helping them to progress into and through HE.
- Developing existing IAG and providing information on progression routes for vocational learners. Click here (hyperlink under development) for our course and progression routes tool.
- Engaging employers and facilitating relationships between employers and LLN partners
- Ensuring that the needs of employers for training and staff development underpins all of the LLN sector priorities.
The Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network (LLLN) was launched on 2nd December 2008 and currently collaborates with employers and external organisations across

- Leisure and Tourism
The Lancashire LLN has three sub-regional groups; each focusing on a geographical area of Lancashire:
· Central Lancashire Area
· Lancaster and the Flyde Area
· Pennine Lancashire Area
The on-going collaboration with business and education providers focuses on removing barriers to progression, helping learners progress into and through HE, developing existing information advice and guidance (IAG), developing new demand led curriculum and continual professional development (CPD) opportunities for the workforce that is fit for purpose. The LLLN is also engaging a wide variety of employers across the region to create a sustainable support network where the needs of education and business combine.
